The Hammett Story Agency Presents:
Sandy Dillon and Ed Wood (15)
avant-garde musician and writer Sandy Dillon reads her original short story with keyboard accompaniment. Plan 10 from Inner Tijuana: What happened to Bunny Breckenridge in Mexico takes a peripheral character from the 1994 Tim Burton film Ed Wood; the transsexual Bunny Breckenridge (played by Bill Murray in the film), and develops the story (only briefly alluded to in the film) of his trip to Mexico for a sex change operation that never happens for him, in a style that is as surreal as one of Ed Wood's own scripts.

Serge Gainsbourg Night
at The Old Market Garage, North Street, Lewes.
A literary tribute to the late great songwriter and reprobate Serge Gainsbourg. Original short stories based on Serge Gainsbourg songtitles read live by Edric Brown, Gary Goodman and Hammett.
Special guest Alan Clayson opened and closed the readings with extracts from his biography "Serge Gainsbourg: View from the Exterior" (Sanctuary, 1998).
In the last hour of the evening we had a drink to Serge with free shots of Buffalo Trace Kentucky bourbon, courtesy of Buffalo Trace and Inspirit Brands, and served with style by the "Bourbon Vixens"- Polly and Sarah.
